Union Delegation to Cuba from April 29 to May 6, 2017

CUPW’s National Executive Board has adopted a resolution to send a delegation to Cuba for May Day.

CUPW’s 2017 delegation will take part in the May 1^st celebrations and in the international Solidarity Conference in Cuba, meet postal workers, visit postal installations and will obtain information on the Urban collective agreement Appendix “R” solidarity project. The costs of the delegation will be paid out of Appendix “R”. 

Participants will be selected using the following criteria:

• Successful applicants must possess a demonstrated commitment to activity within the Union.
• Priority will be given to applicants who have experience with issues and activities related to the delegation.
• Wherever possible, delegations will contain members of equity-seeking groups.

Following the May Day events in Cuba, participants will be required to write a report of their experiences as delegates to Cuba.

The report will have some 300-500 words. It will later be forwarded to CUPW members.
