Mediator Arrives in Ottawa

October 24, 2018

The mediator appointed by the Government to assist the parties, Mr. Morton Mitchnick has now arrived in Ottawa. Today, he and Peter Simpson, from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services, met with your negotiating committee to establish the procedures for this next phase of this round of negotiations. Your negotiating committee, with the assistance of Mr. Mitchnick and Mr. Simpson, will continue to work towards achieving negotiated collective agreements that address our health and safety, staffing, equality, workload, wages and benefits.

Ongoing Activities

The support from the locals asked to participate in the rotating strikes, as well as the support from all the other locals has been amazing. This strong showing of solidarity gives the members of your negotiating committee the energy, strength and determination to keep fighting to get the collective agreements that we all deserve.
