Have your say on the future of Canada Post!
The federal government is conducting a review of Canada Post. It says everything but postal privatization is on the table.
Please participate in the review by filling out an online survey. The deadline for input is October 21, 2016.
There is an open-ended question at the end where you can add your ideas and concerns. To reach it, you must complete the rest of the survey first. Unfortunately, the survey focuses on cuts and rate hikes.
You may wish to:
- Point out that the survey does not considerall options.
- Propose that Canada Post expand money-making services such as postal banking and Broadband service.
- Suggest that our public post office be used to achieve government objectives such as improving service to Indigenous people and lowering greenhouse gas emissions (eg. through the installation of electric charging stations at offices).
Please use your own words.
You can get information on these issues and others from the union’s submission at: /en/campaigns-and-issues/review-canada-post/submission-standing-committee-government-operations-and
Say yes to an expanded, universal, affordable, public and green postal service!
Solidarity,
Mike Palecek
National President (2015-2019)
